Environmental Compliance Inspector ( QSP Certified Professional) Position: Environmental Compliance Inspector ( QSP Certified Professional ) Location: Walnut Creek " California (Near Pleasant Hill, CA) Well established and growing environmental consulting firm with multiple office locations throughout California, actively seeks Environmental Compliance Inspector who is a Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP Certified); to join our Walnut Creek, CA office. This professional will help manage construction support activities that include, but are not limited to, preparing and implementing Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans, dewatering plans and permits, and preparing spill prevention and hazardous material management plans. Ideal Candidate Qualifications and Experience: BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or equivalent field. 5+ years of relevant environmental compliance / inspection experience. Certification required: QSP A strong environmental background pertaining to storm water compliance and environmental services. Knowledge of general construction, linear construction projects for utilities, and storm water. Must be willing to travel to project sites as needed. Strong technical writing skills for various reports including: work plans, monitoring reports, corrective action plans, storm water pollution prevention plans, spill prevention control and counter measures plans, etc. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication and presentation skills; Sound decision making and problem solving abilities. Detail oriented and strong organization skills. Proven ability to perform in a high volume, time sensitive/deadline environment. Proficient with several computer applications including MS Word and Excel. Must meet company defined, pre-employment alcohol/drug screen. Valid Drivers License and clean driving record. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manage all environmental aspects associated with field construction projects, including storm water compliance, BMP installation, dewatering, hydro-seeding, and field water treatment, etc. Conduct inspections on a variety of construction sites as specified in the SWPPP. Plan, organize and administer the permitting, inspection, monitoring and data management of storm water construction projects, in accordance with federal, state and local laws. Provide technical expertise for storm water services for clients. Assist in various environmental compliance tasks and reporting, including SWPPP writing. Coordinate SWPPP development and implementation in alignment with biological and/or areas of environment concerns and limitations. Additional project related duties as required.
