Job Description:Engineering & Construction client is looking for a Project Controls Specialist for a long term Contract assignment in Southern California. You need 10+ years of combined experience in project planning, project scheduling, cost engineering (project accounting, budgeting & forecasting), progress measurement & overall project controls for heavy industrial EPC projects. ** Hourly rate is commensurate with experience & education ** Responsibilities for the Project Controls Engineer * Lead a small team of Schedulers & Cost Engineers that perform cost control, scheduling, and document control tasks * Lead the project planning, project scheduling, cost engineering (project accounting, budgeting & forecasting), progress measurement & overall project controls for multiple EPC projects * Duties also include managing and ensuring the reconciliation of program controls data with financial systems, coordinating with Project Managers. * Coordinate project reporting to clients, manage manpower requirements, monitor deliverables and BOQ (bill of quantities) * Integrate program management, construction, and testing through start up into the construction plan * Maintain the earned value system consisting of; progress/productivity reports, and resource forecasts, to assist the Site and Project Manager with cost reporting and personnel requirements Requirements for the Project Controls Engineer * 10+ years combined engineering and construction scheduling and cost engineering experience on complex, heavy industrial plant EPC projects * You need specific experience as a Project Controls Specialist on heavy industrial EPC projects * The ideal candidate has some experience supporting gas transmission & pipelines and/or electric transmission line EPC projects * BS degree in Construction, Engineering or similar is needed * Strong background in the Suite of Primavera Products * Advanced skills with creating and maintaining schedules in Primavera P6 software * Knowledge and experience with CPM scheduling, earned value analysis & cost estimating * Ability to orchestrate meeting with client and upper management and guide/mentor project controls staff Benefits * 401k * PTO Program Related Words: cost control,cost controls,control costs,cost specialist,cost engineer,cost analysis,project controls engineer,cost engineer,cost control,cost controls,control costs,cost specialist,cost engineer,cost analysis,cost analyst,project controls manager,primavera,p3,suretrak,prolog,primavera's,primavera,p3e,project planner,suretrack,sure track,sure trak,planner,scheduler,purchasing,materials manager,primavera,senior planner,junior planner,senior scheduler,junior scheduler,microsoft project ()
