Description:The New Stanford Hospital (NSH) Construction Manager (CM), a member of the NSH Construction Team, is responsible for managing construction related activities under the general supervision of the Director of Construction. The CM will work and collaborate with other NSH CM Team Members in overseeing the Contractor's successful progress, and eventual completion, commissioning, and activation of the New Stanford Hospital. The CM will oversee a subset of the Contractors activities including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, and/ or plumbing and fire protection systems construction. The CM will review RFI's and submittals relating to the systems, review installation, and participate in the quality assurance (QA) process. This position participates in, and may at times facilitate, weekly construction progress or other related meetings to discuss and resolve issues relating to RFI's, submittals, substitutions, schedule, extra work and quality of work, and prepare and distribute meeting minutes promptly. The CM will be involved in related change management activities affecting those systems, including scoping, estimating, and negotiating change orders. The CM will interfaces with other Project Managers ensuring the clients/users and all other project participants including consultants, contractors, vendors, and outside jurisdictional agencies are all participating in the project in an efficient and effective manner, as well as coordinate with Hospital Operations and facilities groups ensuring that patient care is not compromised. Essential Functions: * Ensures the completion of construction within budget, on schedule, and meets all program objectives and appropriate government regulations. * Implements quality assurance measures to ensure construction project compliance with department, hospital, and university policies, government codes and regulations; also ensures conformance to the requirements of all project participants. * Manages communications on a regular and timely basis, ensuring that all project participants are informed of project status, problems, and required actions. * Manages, assesses, and documents construction scope, describing the objectives, physical requirements, parameters, and constraints of the project, including not only the user's functional needs but also hospital and external jurisdictional criteria for health and safety, operation, maintenance, energy efficiency, quality standards, contextual issues, and aesthetics. * Prepares and maintains accurate, coherent, timely, and auditable project records/files, and cost estimates with department procedures. * Provides leadership, coordination, and support to the Project Managers and all the construction trades specific to a construction project. Education: Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university is preferred but not required Experience: Minimum Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience; Prefer ten (10) years experience in Healthcare.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Ability to budget, make financial projections and write reports * Ability to ensure project compliance with hospital infection control procedures * Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with widely diverse groups, including individuals at all levels both within and outside the organization and gain their cooperation * Ability to plan, organize, motivate, mentor, direct and evaluate the work of others * Ability to prioritize work by making informed judgments and to develop solutions for complex problems * Ability to utilize project management tools * Knowledge of estimating, cost control, scheduling, construction administration, quality control, specification writing* Knowledge of local, state (OSHPD) and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility * Knowledge of technical, professional and business in the fields of healthcare delivery, architecture, and construction, and building design processJob Category:ProfessionalContract:Full Time ()
