Job Description:Roche Diagnostics has created a new start-up business charged with building a modern software stack that will change the way patients are cared for. Our challenge is to bring together complex diagnostic and treatment data from medical devices and IT systems within a hospital and intelligently process and present this data to doctors and care-givers to improve patient care. We are looking for candidates with a deep understanding of modern SaaS architecture and experience across the full stack with a "create tools not band-aids" DevOps mindset. The Position: The Principal Software Engineer in Test will be a key contributor in a team of 10+ engineers applying extensive knowledge of software test fundamentals, quality, and software design. General responsibilities include test plan development, automation test writing, and test execution. Ultimately, your job is to ensure our software stack is as automated as possible and releases are of the highest quality. Responsibilities: * Automation Development: This is a hands-on development position, working closely with developers to write automation tests, frameworks, and supporting infrastructure to streamline and drive high test coverage. * Process & Operations: Develop test plans, write test cases from requirements and design, and own the delivery of a test plan for a release; work within our DevOps toolset and extend the automation testing aspects as needed (building dashboards, scripting) * Leadership: Mentor and develop the team good software practices and testing fundamentals Who you are You're someone who wants to influence your own development. Minimum Qualifications: * BS degree or equivalent in a directly related discipline (CS, Eng, etc.) * 8+ years experience as a quality or test engineer * Proven track-record testing large scale, enterprise (SaaS) applications with complex data models and workflows * Hands-on software development experience in either Java or C++/C# with expertise in at least one * Hands-on experience with multiple test tools - Selenium, JUnit, etc. * Experience in healthcare is not required, but familiarity with healthcare data and workflows is a plus (e.g. HL7, IHE) Who we are At Roche, 91,700 people across 100 countries are pushing back the frontiers of healthcare.
